congotali TIMBER USES

Due to its high specific gravity, hardness and high silica content, the exotic Congotali species naturally covers use class 5 (use in marine or brackish water). It can be used as a subsitute of Azobé.

It is a very durable wood, which can be used to manufacture the following products:

• Exterior staircases and guard railing
• Single-level terraces and pool areas
• Elevated terraces, balconies and corridors

INDUSTRIAL USAGE AND HEAVY WORK

• Hydraulic works in a submerged marine environment
• Structures and bridges in contact with soil or freshwater
• Acoustic barriers in urban areas along railroads and highways
• Sleepers and dunnage
• Industrial floors and heavy framework
• Vehicle, wagon and container bottom (or floor)

Congotali is found in the dense rainforests of Gabon. It is rare to find it in other areas.
