Save the date for the STTC and Fair&Precious Conference on November 18

Funded by IDH - The Sustainable Trade Initiative, this event will bring together many stakeholders of the sustainable tropical forest management. Representatives of trade federations, NGOs, certification schemes, as well as foresters and companies will speak during the conference.

The conference will focus on two main topics:

  • The impacts of EU tropical timber imports and forest certification on climate change
  • Landscape approach and ecosystem services

A session will be given for each of these two major themes and will include presentations and question and answer times. Between these two sessions, the participants will be divided around different talk tables organized on several topics (including the COP26 which will have taken place a few days before, or the tax incentives for certification) to exchange in a more informal and interactive way.

The conference will be an online event, from 9am to 12pm CEST. To register, click here!

About STTC and Fair&Precious

The European Sustainable Tropical Timber Coalition (STTC) is an alliance of industry, business, government and NGOs dedicated to increasing European demand for sustainably sourced tropical timber.

The STTC’s aim is to strengthen demand for verified sustainable tropical timber, in order to incentivize the growth and spread of responsible forest management in tropical countries.

The
Fair&Precious brand was created on the initiative of the ATIBT, which strives to serve the sector, from the tropical forest to the final consumer. Fair&Precious is a collective and collaborative brand created by ATIBT and its members. It is committed to a certification and sustainable management approach in the tropical timber sector. For Fair&Precious companies, dialogue and respect for others are fundamental values, which is why they are working day-to-day in the field to ensure that human development is in harmony with the forest.
