Protection of plants and wildlife

FAIR&PRECIOUS recommends the FSC and PEFC-PAFC tropical forest management environmental protection labels.

Protection of wildlife

As an example, the forests of the Congo Basin are inhabited by over 400 mammal species and over 1,000 bird species.

Thanks to their sustainable management, Fair&Precious forest concessions ensure the preservation of the wildlife habitat and develop anti-poaching programmes. In addition, the communication routes traced within the forests improve the mobility of large mammals, which has resulted in the repopulation of the various species.

Protection of plants

The Congo Basin is home to over 10,000 species of plants that Fair&Precious forest management strives to preserve.

This biodiversity is a tremendous asset of which many treasures are yet to be discovered. This is why Fair&Precious foresters invite the scientific community and NGOs to develop and share their knowledge of biodiversity. This work notably results in the characterisation of new species which aim to reduce the harvesting of the most widely used varieties.
